About Joseph Rivera

During Joe’s 27-year tenure at Valley-Wide Health Systems, one of the largest rural CHCs in the country, he led the Enrollment Department team to improve access to care and provide the very best patient experience.

Joe also contributed to grant applications to secure funding for outreach and enrollment activities. He helped design effective processes, including work with external partners, to expand access to care for farmworker and immigrant populations at Valley-Wide.

During his tenure at Valley-Wide, Joe and his team successfully implemented numerous Colorado Medicaid and CHIP expansions. When the Affordable Care Act’s expansions were implemented in the fall of 2013, the Enrollment Team helped transition thousands of active patients from a self-pay status to Medicaid and Marketplace eligibility in the first year alone.
